2015-2017 Toilet Replacement Project
In 2014, the City of Portsmouth launched its Water Efficiency Rebate Program (download PDF) to promote water efficiency in Portsmouth’s water and sewer systems. This program provided a $100 rebate from the City of Portsmouth for property owners to purchase and install modern, high efficiency toilets and washing machines. Using this program, Portsmouth Housing replaced 449 toilets throughout our property portfolio. Based upon current data, Portsmouth Housing expects to save over 1.5 million gallons of water annually, reducing our utility expenses by over $30,000.
